I don't know too much about these guys, red or green. What's the aggression level of this species? Can they be mixed with other cichlids or are they strictly species-only fish? They are very nice looking cichlids.
They're pretty peaceful as far as large Central American cichlids go, but you can't keep them with any fish that might possibly fit in their mouths. Which are most fish.
Nice. I'm not a big fan of snook, but after seeing these photo's, you may have turned me. Never seen them before and they are beauties. Congrats on the spawn.

I keep my Red with Oscars and a Jack Dempsey. The Red is the biggest and tries to bully the others some but backs down from even the smallest tank mate when it returns the aggression. They are all fairly calm most of the time.
The best part about the snook is the way it can extend its mouth out then retract it fast sucking in anything that will fit. Is a cool feeding strategy.
