Right now i have them in the 125gal so i can grow them out and watch them closer, we are moving in the next two weeks...and in the process we are takin the 300gal and puttin it in our house finally! And i get to take control of it...FINALLY! So its gonna be pimpin! Psittacus, chocolates, Festivum, Uaru, Geophagus sp. red head tapajos, possibly some jurupari, and DEFINATELY some pike cichlids. Some of those fish might not make it in there though...just a wish list. I have all of those except for the pikes and the Uaru though...:P. So i guess I'm pretty much there. Sorry....they are gonna be going in the 300gal...:D
 
Sounds like a pretty cool mix. You'll probably want some dithers/targets in there too... How about a group of 8-10 red hooks or black-barred Myleus? Keeps the SA theme going...
 
yeah, i was thinkin some larger charcins or whatever...lol...red hook or black bar were my first thoughts. Hard to find them around here. The tank is large enough I am almost tempted to try and keep at least a female Ampilophus festae in there...lol...i absolutely love the female coloration! Don't know if i wanna risk it though.
 
Yes, female festae are amazing looking. And you MIGHT luck out and get a mellow one. But with stuff like Geos, etc., I wouldn't throw even a mellow festae in there. :) Get another tank for the festae.
 
He's about a year old.
 
He was a baby when I got him. Maybe 3" if he stretched out with all his might. Here he is a day or two after he arrived:
