Can anyone let me know any info on these fish as far as aggression and growth rate in captivity, i just impulse purchased one at about 3' size .it seems well behaved so far?

Try the search function. Typing in "splendida" will get you tons of photos and first hand experience with this fish.
they are great.. i love mine, but mine are the red ones.
the problem is, they like to have a spot that is all theirs, mine have killed angel fish, and a BIG BGK because they tried to hide in "their" spot..
i think the angel fish just didn't give a damn and swam where they wanted.. lol. but one by one they lost their fins and then died when they were in the 100 gallon tank with the snooks.
i've got them with bigger and tougher fish (cichla) now, i still worry a bit about my CK, but i don't have another tank that he can go in, and he seems to be holding his own (going on 6 months now).

Skillful predator but otherwise not that aggressive. I kept a snook in my first 75 gallon tank. He Hung out around the middle of the water column stalking his tankmates. Inexperienced as I was, I kept it with an array of incompatible tankmates (many of whom found there way into his mouth). He finally met his demise at the hands of a female convict. She was defending her fry and doing her best to ward the snook off when, next thing you know, she's lodged in the snooks mouth head first. She was too big for him to swallow and, despite my best efforts to separate them, they both died. Until this day I believe she purposefully gave her like to protect her fry. Most of the convicts I have today, roughly 10 yrs later, are the descendants of those fry and their mother.
That snook was the first and only I had kept until just recent when I acquired a group of 'green' snooks like the ones in your photograph. They're only 2-2.5" now but I'm looking forward to watching them mature and hopefully spawn in the future.

ive got 8 in a tank around 2.5" and they're fairly well behaved. i imagine they're well behaved but will hold their own easily as the get larger
Also, I've read that their jaws dislocate easily. Based on what I've experienced, I believe this to be completely accurate. If this happens the fish can't eat and dies.
High predation, low aggression is a great description. They grow very large fairly fast. Like 16-20". Pretty easy to raise, not bloat sensitive and eat just about anything and thrive IME.

Do they have a personality at all? Are they like oscars in that the have owner recognition and beg for food?
