That's a good idea, also so you can just pull the tub out to remove filter for maintenance. I always hated having to maneuver my old fx5 out from under the cabinet because that stand had a lip.

Well...I did find a plastic bin to use to hold the first FX6. We bought a cat litter box that is fairly large and comes up about 5 inches on each side. Fits perfectly inside the Aqueon 125 gallon ensemble.
My top fin 125 stand I got BF 2015 got a small leak this week from a canister filter. This was the result. Just the door and the front right leg.... Tank is still standing but I'm mildly worried. If only I had thought about a plastic bin! Should be ok for a while......
This is probably the only down fall to these type of stands. They can't tolerate a water contact.
