There is an awsome breeder that sells cheap show qualioty guppies to my local pets at home (English version with same bad rep) and they are always in good health, occasionaly you get endler/guppy crosses

I am definitely staying away from the "chain" fish stores. I think that they are fine for purchasing equipment and supplies, but I don't think that they provide quality fish. I shoped around to petsmart, petco, and several lfs and found the differences in fish to be astounding. Not only did the lfs have fish with better color, but they were also more willing to work with you on trades.

I think you can sometimes save these fish if you take better care of them than the store its from, not all chains are bad it depends on the one you go to, but in general .........

Throw a fish in there from Wal-Mart and all your fish will die.

ALL of Magans fish right now are from Walmart...haha...and so far we've had a 85% survival rate! So you can make it work. You can get some awesome fish from Walmart, a lotta 'sleepers' so to say. Turn some trashy fish into gems!
