Petsmart finally does something right

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I bought three from Petsmart last week, last three they had, two looked fine, other one not so great. Have em in quarantine right now and so far no signs of ich. Going back this week after they get their next shipment in to get 2 more, 5 should do well in my tank or might go crazy and go for 7.

mine just had the same thing--now I'm 5 strong. These little buggers gave my big tank ich, but you know, nothing 3 water changes and salt won't take care of. I have fallen in love with CL's, no doubt. I wish I just had 20 of them in my tank--who needs cichlids and bichirs anyway? lol

Nice pick ups as per usual

My cichlids don't even bother my loaches - have had yoyos with them since day 1. Now introducing some clowns, wondering how many I should get of the CLs though because they grow so big.

I'm tempted but I'm still waiting to see if the stability cycled my tank. I have 5 zebra loaches and didn't realize how small they are.

You may know but keep in mind they do grow pretty slow.

For some strange reason lost one of my guys. Returned him and got 3 more. Whats funny is they credited me the original price, so with 1 at sales price I still had credit and pretty much got 3 for $4.13. Awsome deal.

Anyway, you got 2 days guys. Sundas is the final day.:(

Corporate Asia.

They're cheap because they're farmed. And you're not really getting a deal when they are sick and weak. I mean, it's a wonderful thing for the typical customer, but clown loaches just lost a lot of prestige as a species in the hobby.

No one is farming CL's in any real numbers, certainly not in Asia, and the ones I've seen out of FL in the past were anything but cheap, and they were barely 3/4" in TL, not 3".

Those clown loaches would be just like the vast majority out there, wild caught specimens from either Kalimantan or Sumatra.

It actually wasn't a sick, just one of thosre random deaths in the fish hobby. Perhaps stress, you never know. The one I thought I would have lost before now that I grabbed is not so slim anymore. So yeah, 3 healthy ones froma petsmart that takes care of their fish well. Definently a good deal.;)
