PetSmart flowerhorn worth it?

... I bought beautiful one before guess what happened no kok and got real dull colored I fed high quality food with constant water changes

The food you chose has nothing to do with the kok and color. It's all genetics at the end of the day the food makes it more amplified. If it doesn't have the genetics in it you can't force a kok on it.

Anyways flowerhorns are hybrids there is no pure bred it's man made so that's that.

I didn't even know petco even carried these in lol

I really don't have room at the moment for it but in November I'm getting another 55g. But if I get him I'll divide my 75. Do you think he would be worth the $25

Oh okay yeah sometimes it's a waste of money if they don't even have a nice kok to begin with.
Well I can get similar ones for 10-20 bucks from a breeder. I would think it would be to take w gamble.

From the pic, the fish has no hump, so I don't think it's worth $25. High quality FH must have hump first, color second. I've seen Petsmart sells higher quality FH, just not this one.
