I just picked up a clown knife at petsmart and the clownknifes there eat about anything. So if your looking to buy a ck go to petsmart because some lfs usually feed theres live fish and you know how much of a pain it is to get them off feeders. I would put a pic of mine but i have a horrible camera:(

are they still having the petsmart sale

I think Petsmart has started something like a "Fish of the Month" promotion...at least they tried awhile ago at a Petsmart I used to live by.

i work at petsmart and do not condone their decision to carry clown knives. I almost always refuse to sell them to customers unless they prove knowledgeable. At least once a week, I have a customer return a dead clown knife because they have no idea its feeding requirements. By policy at petsmart, clown knives are to be fed strictly bloodworms and only at closing time. Customers refuse to follow the same feeding guidelines the clown knives are used to, and assume "its a fish, it'll eat flakes." I only have one customer who coninuously returns to tell me of the success of his clown knife he bought from us and has reached approx 14" and is being housed in a 200 gal. My clown knife was a rescue after a customer returned it, close to death. He is now about 10" and doing great. If only all the clown knives put through petsmart circulation could be so lucky.

Well I can assure you they are not selling any Clown Knifes at our local Petsmart in Destin, FL. I've been trying to get one for months and I'm bidding on a 4.5" really nice looking one right now on AB for 8$ plus the s/h. Our LFS don't carry any of the insane stuff some people on here say their lfs carry, like RTC (not that I'd want one), spotted SD, Arowana, etc.

Also, I wasn't aware they needed specific food and only fed at night. I'm pretty sure it's not hazardous to get your CK on flakes or pellets. The one I'm bidding on now was raised from 1.5" on flakes and pellets and the seller says the CK eats good on that.
