Petsmart now selling ck(clown knifes)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well I can assure you they are not selling any Clown Knifes at our local Petsmart in Destin, FL. I've been trying to get one for months and I'm bidding on a 4.5" really nice looking one right now on AB for 8$ plus the s/h. Our LFS don't carry any of the insane stuff some people on here say their lfs carry, like RTC (not that I'd want one), spotted SD, Arowana, etc.

Also, I wasn't aware they needed specific food and only fed at night. I'm pretty sure it's not hazardous to
get your CK on flakes or pellets. The one I'm bidding on now was raised from 1.5" on flakes and pellets
and the seller says the CK eats good on that.

Yea mine eats flakes and pellets that i got from petsmart and cousins said they saw a silver arowana at a petsupermarket for sale i almost didnt believe it.

My CK will eat at anytime of the day but tends to be especially active at night. They will learn to eat with the lights on if you feed them that way. i hardly ever do it at night cause hes fun to watch

I got mine at 3 inches from Petsmart a week ago and he still won't eat. I've turned the lights off and tried to give him bloodworms, sinking shrimp pellets, even a small minnow. He just won't even try.

I wish petsmart would stop selling clown knifes , pacus and oscars. They grow too large for most tanks and people shopping at petsmart think a 55 is a monster tank. Unfortunately they will keep selling them when uniformed people still buy them.. yes I heard the excuses as he gets bigger I'll upgrade his tank.... I went to a local LFS and talked with the manager he said on Monday morning when they come in in front of their door is bags , boxes full of XL RTC's , oscars, pacus that people don't want....well he has only limited room and most people don't buy fish at this size.. they end up in the dumpster .. take a look in your LFS dumpster next time your there and maybe you wont be so excited about picking up a clown knife for 7.00 ..

I just picked up a clown knife at petsmart and the clownknifes there eat about anything. So if your looking to buy a ck go to petsmart because some lfs usually feed theres live fish and you know how much of a pain it is to get them off feeders. I would put a pic of mine but i have a horrible camera:(

The reason they eat anything is they are starved and literally 50% or more expire before there sold.....

maybe your clownknife fish might change his mind if you only feed him freezedried food. I dont know if its going to work but you can try becuz i heard a story of pacus flooding a river filled with vegitation. it ran out and now the pacus there are meat eaters.

Look, I have a pond for the CKF that is currently stocked with a RTC, two ID sharks, one pacu, one channel catfish, and 4 plecos. I plan on keeping this guy for life, he just won't eat is all, and the pacu? Got him at Petsmart too.
