PetSmart, or PetCo Employed?

imo i just dont like cocky managers that think they a know it all LOL. I rather do dog and cat food xD. I give advice. they just be like. It dont say in the training...
 
I question a LFS, They had a $300 MBU Puffer in a tank with about 8 $150 discus. The discus were all cowering in a corner and all beat to hell.

That's right up there with the shop I visited the other day.They had a tank full of nice sized flagtail prichilodus for forty bucks each but all of their fins were drawn in and they were covered in ich,likely due to the low temperature of the water....I placed my hand on the glass and it felt cold.
 
I'm a housewife now but used to work at Petsmart ,Petland and Petco. Petland was by far the best I was fish/reptile manager there I could order what ever I wanted. We had (fresh, brackish, and saltwater) and there were no pogs to follow. We didn't even sell fish bowls or fish to go in bowls. We kept the bettas in the tanks with other fish and sometimes one in the pond :) Petco was the worst. with the crazy rules like if 50% or more of the fish came in sick you were supposed to euthanize them I never did. one time in winter a whole shipment of bettas about 75 came in mosty dead from not having any heat source none where moving. I opened each bag into a sink of water after floating the bags about 30 mins giving them time to warm up. only 3 where alive :(
 
Saw another blunder at Petsmart the other day. They had a 'buy 4 get 1 fish free' sale which included Sailfin plecos and commons.

I can just see an unsuspecting mother buying 5 plecos that get over 20 inches for little billy's 10 gallon.
 
These stories sound a lot better than what's around here. I went to petsmart about two months ago and asked for three neon tetras. There were clearly three tanks full of them and the worker said, "it looks like we are all out of them." So I just left at that moment and I will never get another fish from there.
