petting a fish

which part of the following fish am i able to pet(if they get tamed) without harming the fish(like taking the slime coat off)?

#1 delhezi bichir
#2 weeksi bichir
#3 fire eel
#4 ornate chaca chaca catfish
#5 barracuda hujeta

#6 silver arowana
#7 tiger shovelnose catfish
#8 lima shovelnose catfish
#9 iridescent shark
#10 red bellied pacu
#11 clown knifefish
#12 tiger oscar
#13 payara
#14 spotted gar
#15 leopoldi stingray
#16 motoro stingray
 
You could probably pet most of them if not all of them if tame enough. It's not good for any of their slime coats though.
 
so which part am i NOT suppose to touch?
 
yeah, fish aren't really meant to be petted. If you want to pet something, why not get a dog. :D
 
well i want them to get used to me so they don't get startled when i do water changes.
 
I suppose thats understandable, maybe you can tame them so that you can handfeed them. That might be just as much fun as petting them. :D

since you put it that way all you gotta do is do it slowly

at first they wont want you to touch em but they will get use to your presense

then at some point you can lightly touch em

put dont pet them like you would a dog :grinno:
