Hey guys well i just checked the PH on mmy tank and its way to high How can i Drop the PH on my tank or the easiest way or what chemicals would help.. its around 8.0

If it's steady at 8, that's fine for most fish. They will be much worse off with you trying to "correct" it and causing frequent pH changes than letting it stay a little too high

Personally I wouldn't keep any of my fish at 8.0. Though screwing with pH in your tank can be dangerous.

What type fish do you have?
What is in your tank substrate and decor wise?
What is your tap water's pH after you let is sit for 24 hours.

I agree w/ both responses... really need more info to say wether it needs to be fixed or if it's best left alone. I've never kept a fish that I have resorted to chemicals to control the PH... I have species that are WC and generally found in 6.0 range... and do not have isssues w/ my 8 ph.... Now if you have something buffering it ( substrate, decor, ect) then depending on what fish species you have you may want to think about re-doing it.

Well, judging by your high ph your kh is likely high as well. The only reliable method of lowering your ph IMO is to use a RO unit, which will run you several hundred dollars, require a holding tank for treated water, and a pump to get it into your aquarium. Ask yourself if you are willing to go to that effort before you consider going any further. 8.0 is fine for almost all fish after acclimation.

well im keeping a Black Rhom and its a 75 gallon Tank with River Sand and two renas filtering it XP2 & XP3. No decoration sorry i really dont know the Ph of the Water after 24 hours.

I'd also agree that messing with the PH could do more harm then good. have you noticed any problems arrising from the high PH?? usually a PH of 6.5-8 is okay

I would leave it the way it is. What kind of substrate do you have. Some actually raise the pH.
