My water comes out at7.0 when I test. It I guess it could be gunk in filters to since I hevent cleaned thoe in about 6months..

I would clean the filter then wait a week or two then do a wc to not hurt the bioload

If you clean out the gunk in the filter using the water you take from your tank, while doing a water change, it will not hurt your beneficial bacteria. When you don't clean your filters regularly, it's like not filtering at all. You may be removing stuff and make it out of site, but it's really still in the tank.
If you put a drop or 2 of vinegar on that stone, and it doesn't sizzle, it does nothing as a buffering agent.
