PH in new 180g is always high?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
With PH you shoot for consistency .and stability over the long term.. As your tank water ages and your nitrates eat up the ava KH your ph will drop naturally.

Ensure your KH is always higher than 40 ppm and keep PH stable..
I would worry more that your tank is properly cycled before you add your prize fish.

Consistency..exactly. My water here has a really high PH. I have had it read out at 9.0... I sometimes have trouble acclimating new fish but once I get them settled they do well.

Oh ok... So fish can still survive in high ph's it's just if there is a big sudden change in ph that really kills them. But if they gradually get introduced to the new ph level they will be fine. I thought fish is only good in a range of ph anything outside that range can br fatal to them.
