PH on African Chiclids

It's been several years since I read the following article, but it certainly sheds some light on how well African cichlids can do in lower pH water.

If i was you i would buy a liquid ph test kit because i live in Suwalki Poland and i was using a strip test kit and the ph was showing 6.8 i bought a liquid kit which showed a ph of 8 i checked at the local shop and ph 8 was correct

I have never buffered my PH with African cichlids. All of them are alive and breeding. IMO, it poses too much risk fluctuating the PH versus letting them just be accustomed to one level.

I have kept both wild caught and tank bred species without issue.

Me either, but my water is naturally good for Africans.
