I have had PH ranging from about 6.5 to 6.9 for years now. (Its how it comes out the pipe). I have lost a few fish to mystery causes lately and the manager at petland (who i will have to definitely admit is pretty knowledgeable) suggested that I bring my PH up to nuetral. I bought some stuff to do so. So heres the question... Is there a natural way to get the PH to nuetral? (i rather use naturally occuring methods). Ive heard that lava rock will bring it up but Im not sure if thats true. Also someone told me that driftwood brings the PH down is that true???

Driftwood will indeed tend to lower ph, use crushed coral/crushed shell to raise (buffer) ph naturally. You'll have to expriment to see how much you have to use to achieve and mantain the desired ph value.

Yea he pretty much nailed it.
