PH & water hardness that big of deal?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Think so? May just try one ray out instead of purchasing a pair or trio, see how he does for a month or so, if bad then will make the adjustment to DI/Tap

The DI resin lasts for approx 600g they said. Then they would come replace it, each replacement was i wanna say $150 which aint bad, we'd be looking at changing it once every two months approx. It's a tax deduction anyway :D

I would ( as someone suggested) start with just one and see how it goes with plain 'aged' tap water.
Ammonia is more toxic at higher pH values, I am not sure about higher hardness values, but as I understand it biofiltration is more efficient with harder water ( bacteria consume minerals as part of their metabolism)

Very interesting.. Thus, the reasoning for nitrification to lower alkalinity over time.

Do your water changes!
