Is there such a thing as too low of a ph reading? My test strips only go to 6.4 and I'm using discus buffer 5.8-6.8. Is it too low?

also, buffers don;t contain acids so they won;t lower your pH, they will just 'support' it at certain levels, so if you have water at pH7.5 using a 6.5 buffer won;t do anything except add minerals to your already buffered water
