New Background, added natural Rocks. Took out all plastic decor.
I'll probably take the plant out too. (it's a silk plant)

I think i'm going to remove that red and green silk plant. It doesnt seem to "go" with the surroundings. I have it in there right now as a hiding place for my Bichir. I have some natural driftwood soaking in a large bin outside right now. Should I get some realistic looking silk plants to add? Or just stick to rocks and natural driftwood. ???

I dont want any more plastic plants, but the silk ones tend to look very real.

Any thoughts?

Wow it made a hell of a difference with the sand.....i say take that plant out and put a decent sized piece of driftwood in its place and maybe another smaller piece where the oscar is in the third pic and it will look perfect........

I agree, take out the plant and put a couple pieces of driftwood in. Looking great!

Awsome. Thanks. :D

I have two fairly large pieces soaking right now.
I think you guys are right and I'll lose the plants all together.

More opinions welcome.

Do the fish kick up sand? I was thinking of going with tahitian moon sand for my oscar tank.

I used Pool Filter sand. It's heavier than most other sands. So the fish cant kick it up and the siphon doesnt even suck it up.

Tahitian moon sand is finer and will probably be kicked up more.
(plus its more expensive)

Pool filter sand was about $9.99 for a 50 lb bag.

WOW looks real good; and I definatley agree that you should remove that silk pland and mybe some drift wood...Looks great

i bought black sand for my 220 cause it was heavier but its still hell on my filters.

Well. Also, just to be safe. I cut my intake tubes so they were shorter and further away from the substrate.

You can see in the picture. They used to be about 1-2" away from the bottom. Now they are a good 9" away from the bottom. So they dont ever suck up any sand.

Looks good. I agree with taking out the silk plant. It kind of throws it off. A nice piece of driftwood would definitely be better.
