I wanted to take a second and further explain the idea of what is acceptable and what is not in terms of blacking out your photo.

When blacking out it is ok to get rid of LITTLE things like water marks, water debris and particles, etc.

The following is an example of what is acceptable.

BEFORE

AFTER

The following are examples of what is NOT acceptable.

Another example of what is NOT acceptable.

Who decides what is minimal editing/photo shopping/blacking out? The MFK staff. If you are unsure whether or not you are blacking/editing to much then simply send in both BEFORE and AFTER pictures with your entry. Otherwise, it might be disqualified.

* Special thanks to JohnPTC for helping me out with these great examples!

[h=2]POTM Rule Changes[/h]
In order to increase the quality of our site, starting in Feb. the MFK staff would like to announce two new additional rule changes to our Photo of the Month (POTM) contest.

Our first rule change is that all photo entry files must now be named with your MFK member name. This will help expedite the contest process.

Our second rule change is that there will now be a undetermined amount of photos allowed in every POTM contest. The majority of the POTM entries will range from 20 - 30 photos. The reason for this is to eliminate photos of lesser quality. Many of you might be asking yourselves, "What constitutes a photo of lesser quality?" If you photo is in focus with clean glass then it will be most likely entered. All I am asking for is pics in focus and clean glass.

Below are examples of photos that will no longer be allowed in the contest.
