PHOTO SHOP vs NO PHOTOSHOP

I'm practicing my photopshop skills. What do you guys think. The first picture with the Lei & Bicuda has only been altered by reducing the size. The second picture with just the Lei is photo shopped by blacking out the background and and removing the Bicuda. I like the first picture better. It's definitely a fun tool but not necessary I think when posting pictures. I'm sure many think the when people post nice pictures that they always photo shop it. Not the case as all you need is a nice DSLR and proper lighting to get the effect you want.

Anyways, just for fun.

man i always love your pics! how do you black out the background? is it as simple as masking out the fish and the wood?

I would soften some of the edges on the driftwood so that the Lei pops out!! Very nice pict though!!!

i agree. i would even blur the driftwood some, bring out the fish more. great pics- hope to see more.

Not against the black background, but the photos hopped pic looses the depth of the original.

Leave the bubbles as well and just remove the gar. Than darken the background to even it out.
