lol thanks a lot guys!
i have got a 7 x 2.6 x 2 foot tank with a massive external box filter and also a uv steriliser. i have two beauty lights, a moonlight bulb and 3 spots to light. as for the fish i have got 3 pleco, 2 tinfoil barb, 1 green terror, 2 polypterus palmas, 2 polypterus senegalus, 1 polypterus delhazi, 2 royal knife fish, 2 oscar, 2 pangasius catfish, 1 sun cat, 1 silver dollar, 2 large goldfish, 2 bala shark, 1 tiger shovelnose, and 2 other fish which i thought were lungfish but after looking at some pics on here now i not so sure!! they were sold to me as rubber eels but a aquarium owner came to but a breedeing pair of geophagus brasiliensis off me and he said they could be lung fish.
i did have a really large tinfoil that has sadly just died - no idea why - he started to swim upside down so i quarantined him in a poly box with a load of air and some meth blue but unfortunately it didnt help. swim bladder infection i thought but dunno how he got it. my tiger shovelnose is new - he had gill curl when i got him. i kinda a sucker for lame fish!! he is also missing a ventral on the same side so think he has been battling, hoping it grows back and he gets well soon! my small pangasius has only one eye - that way since he was born i think since there is not even a socket there. i did have a 13 inch arowana too which had no eyes but he died a while back from old age i think. he was great since he could not see to attack my other fish and he was hand fed! would love another one but he would have to be about the same size so oscars not eat him!! i did just buy a clown knife which is about half the size of my royals but because geophagus were breeding he was getting attacked and had some damage done. i have since put him in a seperate tank to help him get better and he is doing well. i have kept a lot of real pretty fish in my time such as a malawi setup and stuff like red belly pacu, distochodus and severums also a whole load of little fish like neons and rummynose etc. i prefer bigger fish - they seem to have more personality.
quick question, when do my posts stop getting moderated?
hope to speak to everyone at some point on here and pick up some helpful tips, maybe even give some!!
and one last thing -- i used to keep axolotl! thats a crazy pet to keep! so stupid looking they make you smile!!
