Phototropism + water current input = light hunting floating plants?!

Okay, so it's seeming evident that the plants themselves probably aren't navigating.
I should clarify. The physical phenomenon is still occurring, but the facts are lacking to prove anything. So even though it still appears to be happening, without any known mechanism for it ti happen I will have to call it randomness until I find out otherwise is true.
 
I notice this in my tank too with duckweed. The brighter end of my tank has tons of it, while the dim end has none, even though I have identical filter outputs, and thus current, at each end. Odd indeed.

That's exactly what I mean. So I'm not crazy after all. Good to hear, since I do think I'm rather awesome.
