Pic of Jardini

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i just bought a jardini arrowana today, he is about 10 ", he's only been floating at the top and haven't eaten yet either. and i do mean litterally floating at the top with the tip of his nose out of water ( im afraid he'e gonna dry out his nose ). i also have another smaller jardini ( 5 " ) in there as well and is shy but active... is this normal??

seeing as how you bought him today seems normal. Not so sure about the nose being out of the water tho. Whats your water quality's like?
have any airstones in the tank?
What size tank do you have?
temperture?

yea i have a 110 gallon tank, no airstones, and temp is around 75-80, i also a couple more other fishes in there along with two turtles...but all my other fishes are small, no more than 4 "

ffirst of all that tank is to small. Might want to add some air stones or some sort of air supply keep temp around 80. change the water about 50%
How do you filter that tank?

i changed the water the day before i got the fish, and i have plenty of air supply in that tank, i tested the water everything's all good

well heres what ogreone does. Change the water in all three of my tanks every five days. 110g about 80-90%, 210g about 50% changed, 20g about 50% changed. Every five days adding prime before adding the water. temperature of the water is around 82*. Really cant help you with why your fish is acting that way. Maybe give it a few days and see if it changes. IF not try making a thread with a picture of how your fish looks and write about what it is doing from your observations. oh and Welcome to the forum many knowledgeable people on here.
:clap
Cheers

Considering that it takes out nitrate. Ive read of people changing the water every day at 50% of course this is with bigger fish. look up drip systems people drip about 30 gallons a day into there water so that they never have to do a water change.
Do you have any pictures of your jardini near the top?
How is he doing now?

not alot of fish do well with turtles!!!!
what kind is it?
