sister didnt want it so i reset it back up. has 20 serpae tetras. petco had a 5 for 5 deal. been running two weeks. i am doing fake plants because i want the tank low maintenance.


thinking about adding a tiger barb school and loaches(maybe 2 clowns and 6-8 yoyos) and a red tail shark.



any other ideas?

i am going to get a background next. i can only find the black/blue ones for a tank this tall =\
 
they grow really slow, i see most around 9". My experience with serpae tetras and tiger barbs were horrible, they would nip at everything!!! I wanted to try them out knowing their tendency to nip but it was a risk i wanted to take since they were cheap. I think cory cats would look nice in the set up. If you do add more fish just keep an eye on the serpae and tiger barbs.

Maybe after 8-9 years or more.

Even if they got that big, they are not open water swimmers and they should do fine as long as your filter keeps up.
 
I like your decor, I'd vote for 4-5 clowns too - 6 foot tank right? I tried serpae tetras and didn't have much luck with them - switched to cherry barbs instead and they have done great, so you might think of those. Silver dollars maybe?
 
The decorations in the take is really nice. You might consider some simple form of life moss just to help with water purity.
