Ok I want to see who all has some cool Giant Barbs. Doesn't matter what kind it only matter that they will grow to over 2' in the wild.

I know that there are some giant siamese carp floating around since they were pretty readily available last year. and I have seen at least one person with some julleni. and there are a few other large sp. of tor and hampala floating around. so I would just like to see what everyone has.

These are fish that I have been trying to pry myself away from b/c they are not high end preds. but I keep finding myself contemplating selling my last high end pred and doing my tank in all giant barbs.

so post what you got and sizes please.

P.S. I'll start with the one that I have.

It's a Tor Mosal Or (true tor Putoria) either way it's a pretty rare tor. And he's about 12"

Indian tors are rarely imported, a few jumped out, so only a few people have them

Julienne barbs ...

A few people in malaysia have some real nice red tors, those are rare as hell...

I knew this one would catch your attention. lol you've had a Julienne correct?

I would love to get my hands on a Tor soro. but My luck the time one came available I wouldn't have the cash.

there is a guy currently that is claiming he will be getting some juvi Julienne but I dought that after doing some reading on them but I know know there are some floating around here.

IDK what is is about these types of fish I can't stop comming back to them and wanting a tank full of them. Nothing wrong with that but It's not a direction I thought I would be going a few years ago.

Koop, as you know I don't have these anymore but I'll add to your thread. Nothing wrong with huge barbs:headbang2 I can't seem to find any of my hampala dispar.

Opps my bad im always mixing up the hampala's I can never remember which one is which.

okay, the first shot is an older shot of my old 90g with my two 18" lemonfin barbs that I had. I no longer have these fish or this setup. it was at my parents house before I moved out.

the second shot is my current batch of lemon fins I am growing up along with two red tinfoils and some redhooks in my 150g at my house.

the third shot is a full tank shot of this tank. as you can see, they have a long way to go yet.

I am a huge barb fan.

thanks for adding. I seem to be more drawn to the giant barbs lately I think it's the fact that they have a sweet body shape and I would be able to house more b/c there would be less agression issues.

Those yellowfins are very nice. How long did you have the yellow fins to get them 18" ?
