What is the best thing to feed them??? mine is about 5" and looks great. I want him to be real healthy and grow huge. He is in a 150 FOWLR by himself currently. I have brine shrimp flakes right now and a pellet that is more for veggie eating fish. I wanted to supplement this veggie pellet once in a while to ensure health.

1.) Spirulina pellets are good even for a carnivore right????

2.) Is freeze dried krill from hikari a good choice of feeding???

3.) what else do you feed these little monsters???

You can feed spirulina pellets...there won't be any problems. You could try freeze dried, but mine ignore it all together.

I stick with mainly market items, like scallops, clams, haddock, shrimp, krill...stuff like that. I pretty much shop for both me and my fish...what ever I'm eating for seafood, they get some too.

my triggers are about that size and love the freeze dried krill. they also eat mysis and brine shrimp, seaweed flakes, formula 2 pellets, silversides, and they go crazy for small pieces of scallops, squid and raw shrimp from the grocery store. they'll also take a little chunk of my fingers if i'm not fast enough.

Yeah...they usually aren't that picky. Mine just don't like freeze dried for some reason.

It's funny you mentioned them biting your fingers...I just got tagged HARD by mine last night...right on my thumb.

At work I feed the triggers mysis shrimp, silversides, and f/d krill. When I feed veggie flakes to some of his other tank mates he devours those too. Not picky at all.

I feed mine, which is about 4-5" marine pellets, and green veggies (seaweed ) he eats it faster then the tangs do =)

They also eat oxheart,but that is not very healthy at all.Hard shelled things; shrimp,clams etc.

have you tried to get the air out of the freeze dried krill first. If you can hold it underwater and squeeze out the air. It will allow the krill to sink and the fish might eat better. Watch out for your fingers though. I've have also let the krill sit in a cup of water for a while before feeding, basically the same as squeezing it underwater.
