I am deciding to let go of my 13 IT datnoids that I have in my 72"x18" 120 gallon but I am not sure of what single fish I want to replace them with.
The fish will have an NGT datnoid, 2 goldie plecos, a flag prochilodus and a juruenese catfish as tankmates and will have a diet of mainly pellets.
I have considered an ornate bichir but even if I went with that I would still want that special fish that would be out and about instead of constantlly hiding.
Tank will be upgraded on April 1st, 2011 to a 96"x30"x24" 300 gallon.
Give me some ideas but adhere to the rules:
No Cichlids.
No bottom dwellers.
No Datnoids.
Thanks MFK.

Silver Arowana, Clown Knife

I was debating on a black aro...
I always thought the african arowana was ugly looking till I saw one in real life as opposed to pics.
It is a no go on the ray. If I wanted one it would have to be a leo or henli and I'm not ready to shell out a grand on a first ray. Besides, I'd have to take hiding spots away from my goldies to give a ray some room to roam and that is not a good idea.
I know I said no cichlids but I am considering getting a nice peacock bass, maybe an azul or orino. One that gets a blue color.

I had one, was thinking of getting another and trying it out. He was fine till I bought a port cichlid and then there was no holding the beast back lol.
I traded him into my LFS.
