So I have a 75 gal with fast moving tetras, a few guppies, some corydoras, and 2 blue gouramis. I want to do a pair of "show fish" and I can't decide. Here are my potentials:

Geophagus
Festivums
Angels
Your suggestions

Let me know if you see any problems with any of the above. If I need to pull a couple fish for it to work then I'm not opposed. I am planning on doing some aquascaping in the tank as well so keep that in mind. I would like the fish I pick to be larger so they stand out. If it's not a cichlid then thats fine too. I have a little more stocking to do with my community fish but should be done soon. I want to introduce the larger fish last. So give me your votes for what I should do or throw out some more options for me!

Out of your choices I think geos are the most showful looking ones. Also depends on which species you choose as well.. With the stock you have now, I wouldn't do any of the Brazilian types, but most others could work.

GEOS!!!!

geos or sevs..some sevs are really nice :) Rotkeils and Turqs..most 'different' sevs are nice lol

my problem is finding the right geos in this area.
I came close seeing some wild caught for $50 bucks a piece but they were not what I wanted. Hmmm maybe aquabid.

I have also been looking closely at severums too. Maybe green or redhead.

hard picks! I would say your decision

I do like the looks of all of them though angels might be nasty when in breeding but they're the least threat in my opinion when they're breeding to seriously harm others as they're slower than other 2

but sev/geos are just as beautiful but they do get quite big and thats more nicer in a 75g tank if you don't mind losing a couple of your other fish due to predation

cichlids will be cichlids no matter what

And I expect that but if I keep it slightly over stocked with the smaller fish then maybe I won't have as many losses. Plus tetras are generally cheap.

if it is a nicely planted tank, i vote angels. i know it is done a lot, but from what you suggested i think it fits best
