A good deal...?

What happens when they find out they made a mistake...? Will someone lose their job...? What happens the next time you need their help on a warrenty, a part, a dead or sick fish...? Will they remember you...?

I am a business owner and a deal is only "good" when all parties benefit...

Q. What if you were the business owner...?

Your sales are down, your costs are up, your margins are slimmer than ever before and oh yeah.... your customers are getting everything cheaper online and now only buy stuff when it's emergency and they need it right now and they always say WOW...! I am so glad that you are open on Sundays you saved my fish again...!

Well, they buy everything online except for the big stuff... TANKS!!!

You have a great day and sell a 180G, (that you already marked 40% down!!) to a local customer... but, it's a busy day, and a 210G goes out instead.

How much less did you make that day...? How much less does your family have...? You go home and think about how hard you worked that day and keep asking...

How could someone do that...? One of my customers...

Soon there will be fewer and fewer LFS... then we can all go to Petsmart and complain about... (Fill in the Blank), and remember the good old days when there was the local guy... the guy that you have come to trust but was forced out of business...

I have to go run to my LFS before they close and get a few things I need for a water change...

Good luck with the tank...

I think MM is referring to the customer side of this transaction, not the business owners side. Its tough enough trying to run a local business and keep good staff on.

It is our obligation...we the customers and LFS supporters...to do the right thing.

very true... good staff is very important for any business.

I know how hard my LFS guy works and personally... I couldn't be happy with something I got from him knowing he got screwed by the purchase regardless of "who's" fault it was... him, me or staff...

That's just MHO and I didn't mean to bring down the thread... enjoy the windfall.

I would rather have done the right thing. I would have called them and mentioned it to them.
