Man they're really emaciated. :/

Aquarium salt as a tonic is always good for fish, do it.

How large are they? Might want to slowly raise the temperature to 86*F if they are by themselves. (Try 82-84*F if they are sharing the tank with other fish that prefer cooler temps). I know that live foods are generally frowned upon, but I think these guys would benefit from a few rosy minnows, so you can be sure they're eating. Think you can find out more about them?

salt has been added.temp rasied from 75 to 79.will see about rounding up some live food tomorrow. might try some northern filets later tonight.there in a tank with plecs, oscars, some small dempsies.there is a marbled cat in the 300 gal stock tank. thats part of the whols system

Agreed 150%. They look like staved bass, so I would do as stated above. Make sure you have a bottle of prazi-pro as a preventive and a cure for internal parasites. Other then them being skinny, great looking monos.

Op- follow this great advice. That being said they were a great deal for you! A little TLC and you got yourself some nice looking monos at a steal of a price!
