i would deff. reattach the bottom trim pieces and make sure that you get all the old silicone off the bottom before you do thats whats gonna give you alot of your support on the bottom and the last thing you want is all that water on your floor
 
I agree, the top and bottom braces are not that expensive even if you need to replace them altogether. If igure it is a better safe than sorry situation.

Tha tank looks good. I wouldn't worry about the overflow in the tank. Once you have the plants going in the tank, you probably won't notice the overflows. You would lose a lot of funtionality by removing them and pluggin the holes. Although, that is an option.
