Picked up a 3" Endli

Picked up another baby endli about 2 weeks ago, only seen him eat twice since then and looking very skinny. Does anyone know if this is a wild caught or captive bred? Also how do u tell? Thanks

Also this guy Doesn't have external gills, whereas the other baby endli I got has got long external gills...?!

hmm. i had a convo with another bichir enthusist and we talked about how some baby bichirs with missing external gills might potentially be stunted fish. hope that's not the case cause the pattern is dope. im gona guess cb?

Wow, crazy pattern on him. He might be CB x WC. Make sure to have plenty of oxygen going trough bubble wands or something, the gills will form in high concentration of oxygen. Also, what are you trying to feed him. I got some in now too long ago at about 1.5 inches and they are now 6-7 inches.

he does not look too bad on the skinny either, but not fat like I like them lol

Thanks for replies guys. He's started to eat this week on prawns and I can see him chewing on massivores but not sure if he's taking them in!

do more blood worms and very small pieces of shrimp and fish fillet at this age. That way you do not have to worry about choking.

Also what is CB x WC? This guys patterns looked very different to the endli I have now so I thought I buy him and grow them out and see the difference!

that would be a captive bred x wild caught. Might be the makings of those nice bandings on him.
