Oh I definately agree. I have had mine for about 8 months now. He begs whenever I look at the tank and gets really crazy if I (or any of my friends) looks at it for too long and he's not getting any food. Its quite comical.
You will get addicted. I got my first (ornate) in June and I already have 3 (added 2 sens). I'm really thinking about a delhezi, but that would definitely be the last one until I upgrade the tank.
Yep, but it isn't quite big enough to eat a whole wafer or shrimp pellet. So it kind of shakes it until a little piece comes off. Even for being so small it's got a pretty big mouth though.
Well no friends for him today, I went back to Petsmart but the only Senegal they had left was dead as a door nail. I wonder if the others died too or someone bought them, they had like 6 2 days ago. Wish I would have bought more then.
Then I went over to a LFS and they had a REALLY nice Ornate that was around 4" and looked very healthy. However the price tag was a little high for me, $50 for the little guy. I thought that was pretty high, am I right in thinking that? This stores prices are typically pretty high, so I didn't want to take the plunge without checking here. If it's a good deal I may go get it but I was also concered it was likely big enough to eat my baby Senegal.
Woo Hoo got another poly for my new guy to grow up with, it was the smallest they had at my new favorite LFS (It's strictly a fish store and it shows, way better selection and prices but not the best hours but I'll deal with that). They had a gorgeous 8" Senegal and 6" Albino Senegal but those were far to big. Anyway I was so happy to see a small Senegal sitting next to the Albino for only $10. I am slightly concerned as it's quite a bit larger than my current baby so I *HOPE* he doesn't get eaten but I don't think it should be an issue. Anyway here are a few crappy pictures of my new guy.
I am not positive it's a Senegal but for the price I doubt it's anything else. It was just marked "Poly". If anyone can confirm I'd appreciate it, I know the pictures aren't the best.
Thanks for the input thats what I'd hoped, so far so good. I broke up a tiny shrimp into small pieces and the new guy already went to town on it. He was like a little bulldog tearing up the little pieces. Then he was sitting in that Wisteria plant thats in the middle of my tank growing out of that log, I presume waiting for a guppy to swim by. It was hilarious I couldn't find it for the life of me then I look up and it's just sitting there in the plant.
