Picked up a 90g glass tank today. It's been sitting on someone's patio for about a yr. Looks like crap but the seals are holding. Thinking I will fix it up and either use it as a hospital tank or give it to my daughter for the axolotls she wants... Or I could restore it and put it on CL... I dunno yet but I like fixing these things up.

How about a axolotl breeding tank?

Add some flat rocks and elodea.

Would be a good investment, feeding newborn axos is the hardest part, but I'm sure you can manage

I have to check the fine print of what my permit says I can keep. I know axolotl are illegal for regular people to own in the state of VA. Have to do things all law abiding and what not. Don't wanna lose my wildlife licence

.check to see if you can keep tiger salamanders as well

So I was checking all my fine print BS for my current permit and I am legal to go ahead. (Tiger salamanders are also restricted and require special permit to own) I just can not transfer ownership to another party residing in VA in the future.

Oddly enough I learned that technically here in VA you are supposed to have a permit from fish and game to own ANY kind of cat and a few odd others. Va has some weird laws.

I'd still breed them then, any offspring you don't want can be fed to predatory fish.

Speaking of weird laws: back in mo they will readily give you permits for bears, gators tigers etc but not for squirrels

Why the f would some one want to keep any of those is beyond me... Especially squirrels.

Turns out they make awesome pets!(squirrels anyway)
A friend of mine rescued one, then other people gave him a few more rescues, they are friendly, even with the dogs, pretty intelligent as well.

Turns out a lot of things make better pets than you think.
Foxes are more like cats than dogs.
Coyotes are like domestic dogs, but quieter and more shy towards strangers.

Raccoons are pretty cool as well, a friend (relative of the first friend ) had one that got along with the cat and several dogs, he liked to play with a stuffed rabbit (really fun).

I've never been to fond of rabbits however, to mean, bite to much, etc.

Ive rehabbed most of the local smaller wildlife (haven't done deer or bobcat yet). I still think wild things should stay wild... But I will admit a certian soft spot for skunks and oppossums

Agree with you there, however that's not always possible (seems like every few years I end up raising baby birds, so much work, especially teaching them to hunt for themselves).
