hey all, i was at a lfs yesterday and came across this little guy, i came home without him... well last night i kept thinking about him, he is very bold swimming up to greet at the glass and is a beauty. i thought would read up last night and in the guide on here i figured im the best guy to buy him, really would be un fair for someone who doesnt know how to care for these to buy him, this morning i had a change around and free'd up a cycled tank set the temp at 20 deg and done a water change, then i went and snapped him up, the lfs owner said he had come back in monday after i guy bought him and put him in their malawii tank! wtf lol, he started ripping all the malawii up and was returned. its the happiest ive been about a fish in a long time, i missed my bleheri i had a few years back when another member offered me too much money to turn down! i would really like to find another and attempt a breeding attempt as suggested in the stickys, i will have a spare 4x22x24 100g soon, would this be enough or should i consider clearing out the 300g?

he is feeding on hikari carni sticks (fed infront of me at lfs) atm which im assuming is a great staple, should i be adding in some bugs, worms, and frozen or would it be better to keep him on pellets?

Pics bro ?

tank was a little cloudy due to adding sand fella, i will have a go in a bit, awesome little fish after putting him in i decided to clean the filter impeller and he was up at the surface watching swimming right up to my hand!-) second thoughts i dont think i would be willing to clear on the 300 lol, i found a few threads with breeding since i started this thread with some breeding in 3ft tanks, i think the 100g will be perfect.

How big is he at the min ? Mines pretty big now 15-16" guess chomps any good he's not fussy :D its one of the only fish I've found jardini don't like the taste of he's survived my old jar when he was tiny , 100g should be fine as there ok on the turn IMO that's plenty of width for now

Nice looking snakehead mate I should have clocked on when you mentioned the temp of new tank :banghead: , I'm always tempted into getting another my lfs always has a few in stock (think theyve got reds atm )but think the jar will kick off and no room to set up smaller species tank ATM , the last little one I had chomped my arm I forgot about him chilling in top corner full of plants , shocked the hell out a me lol , I'm pretty certain the 100 g will be fine to breed them in , check out the breeding threads from the guys over in Canada they've got some quality setups going on
