saw her tube down today gonna make a divider out of some egg crate, move him to her 40b and see if they'll spawn
GOOD LUCK! Show us some pics of the male! I hope my flowerhorn spawn I added a new female and the male is going nuts for her. He did beat her up after 5 minutes but divided her. I just wanted to see if they would spawn. They like each other they did their dance and everything.
She just laid eggs today! I hope he fertilized through the divider. Took the pot out just incase she wouldn't eat them and to see if the actually hatched.
She is beautiful but very small 2-3" lol I tried to take out divider he's going nuts trying to kill her lol
congrats hopefully you get some nice ones out of the batch
still have them seperated since he's a bit on the aggressive side. she seems to be warming up to him a little tho. hopefully they settle down soon
Well my female somehow escaped and got to her eggs and ate it. I know she did it to protect her eggs but yeah I'm assuming she ate them because the male didn't fertilize it. This is my second female for him the first one the eggs didn't fertilize properly and none hatched. Half were good but got fungus on the rest!
ahhh that sucks you can always give it another go tho. hope you have better luck next time. i'm keeping the divider up for the time being as i'll be busy the next couple days so not much time to keep track of breeding and caring for fry.
Well I might have goofed pretty badly when I vented my new flowerhorn. Could have sworn the vent looked much more round than my big male's but when I checked it again last night it was looking more pointed. Gonna try and get a good pic after work later and see what you guys think. I might be on the hunt for a female still but at least I'll have a couple different gene pools to try and breed.
