Dang, sure looks like it could hold it's own in the octagon!!!

i dont know why i havent gotten one yet either, killing machines...
Definitely, can be killing machines, that's for sure!! so be warned, and be selective when choosing tankmates! :uhoh:

If you do decide to pickup more dorados, be sure to keep them in groups of odd numbers. (3, 5, 7, and so on)... this will allow them to spread their aggression out evenly amongest each other and not single in on the weakest/smallest one. GL!

I kept a trio of dorados awhile back sometime... these guys would school together and cruise the tank, creating havok for the rest of my other fishes!! and if there weren't any fishes to beat on (usually scared 7 hiding), they would school together and beat on themselves!! some real 'bad azz' fishes they are!!

Hows the dorado doing? What tankmates are you housing with it now? I'm considering picking one up it would be going in a SA com tank with pbass, crenicichla, and shovelnose cats think it would work? ~Trent

It was with an african pike (Hepsetus odoe) for a few months. I decided to move the pike to my girlfriends house instead though. They got on OK apart from the odd nip. As far as PBass and pike cichlids go, I guess it depends on the size of them all. Not sure I'd risk it though, the dorado is a pretty bad tempered fish 99% of the time.
