ive read that they are difficult to get off of live ... but not impossible ... i was told to tie a frozen food losely in a string ... and then pull it around the tank like its a moving fish

that'd probably be a pain in the *** but i guess it would probably work

Yeah Even though it's annoying getting the hooks out because the seem to flop around and try to get away I still love them.

I converted mine off live pretty easily, didn't even need to starve them. Never got them to eat prepared foods though- mainly shrimp, krill, fish meat, earthworms. As mentioned, they react to motion, so I would drop the food where there's a current. Once it hits the ground, the food is ignored.

WAit can pickerel be housed with bass without agression cuz maybe i'll get both

if anything the bass would be the accressive ones, not the pickerel ... dont know how tey'd work together ... i think as long as they have enough to eat they are fine. they don't move a whole lot, so as long as the bass leave them alone, they will be fine

I think the best choice for you would be a Chain Pickerel

No it will probably be a grass pickerel because they don't get as big
