Pickerel?

I'm still searching for a long mean looking fish to go in my 110 with my bichir...and after lots of online searching....
Pickerel? I hear they aren't too aggressive, do well in warmer water, and don't get overly huge.
Has anyone tried this? Is is strongly advised against doing? Will there be conflicts?

If not, does anyone have any other ideas for a long, sleak looking, NON bottom dwelling carnivorous fish that doesn't get monsterously huge?

I think this might actually work. Both fish like the same conditions (pH alittle high, temp. high 60s to low 70s, and harder water). Both fish are very addaptable to water condithions as well.

You might and should be able to pull it off. I would go after a redfin or grass pickerel. They only grow to about a foot.

I would worry about a large bicher making a meal of a pickerel. If I were you I would keep with the african theme and go with an african/odoe pike instead.

I don't know of any. I saw one in the buy/sell, but I forget where the poster as and he was unwilling to ship.

If I were you I would create a new topic in the buy/sell: "WTB African/Odoe pike".

Do you really think so? A full grown pickerel I think would be a challenge. I guess the real question is, what kind of bichir is it? Maybe I missed that part.

I was going by the bicher in his avatar. Looked like an endlicheri/lapradei type bicher. Those get pretty big. I had one grab onto a softshell turtle and give him quite a scare.

Yeah, I guess both those bichir sp. have the potensial to eat a redfin or grass. Should have asked the question before. Hindsight I guess.
