Brother is moving in with me in the summer and roomates are moving out, this means more room for some MFKing.

Little bro wants a gulper but i really like a RTC x TSN hybrid. Any chance of these coexisting? if so what size tank for both, if not what size for them individually?

when the tsnxrtc is small the gulper might eat it, then once it surpasses 36" there is a chance it might eat the gulper.
minimum tank for a gulper: 36"x18"
rtcxtsn: 120"x48"

You can have a pair of gulpers in a 55g.

A RTC x TSN will get HUGE and you will need a pretty large tank for it. As for the cohab, I would say the TRC x TSN would be fine as long as its over a foot.. Then again I have seen some crazy threads about gulpers.

If the RTC x TSN gets big enough, the gulper may look like food.

I'll let the catfish experts correct me... lol

EDIT: And jack beat me to it.

gulps are fine in a 55? Might be getting both then 55s are always abundant around here I just thought nothing that interests me would fit

Just get a group of gulpers (3) for the 55gal.

Gulpers are fine in a 55g. They active, but not too active where they need anything too spacious. I'd get 3. A pair would be okay, but 3 would seem better.

Yea get 3, I have a pair in a 55g but just because when I bought them only two were in stock. They seem to like to play together and are really cool fish. However, they are only active late at night, like 9,10,11, and during the day dont do anything. Ive also owned a RTC and he was randomly active, so it depends on your life schedule too.

Now now Boggy ... be nice :naughty: there are alot of RTC lover around too :grinno:

Agreed with the above, if space is limitation then gulpers are the way to go (never seen any around here or Thailand though... pity)
