you cant

however

usually with a breeding pair

they always swim side to side, thats how you can tell.

to tell whether they are male or female you need to spot the one that drops the eggs during courtship.

thats what ive known too. noone can actually tell unless two specimens have actually mated. so if these two mentioned have not bred yet, .........who knows if you can actually mate them?

just a few questions????
I thought there was a way to sex when fully mature silver aro's? buy the shape of there mouths?? dosent one protect the babies when peds come around almost like a mouth brooder??? I could be wrong but that is what I was told!!
as for swimming together they are always following each other around!
rich diet??
my smaller aro eats hikari aro floating sticks, frozen large krill, shrimp, earth worms and once a mounth a few feeders!
I have hered of people feeding them mice!
any other idea for food would be much apreciated!!
the only down side is they have been kept in a way to small of a tank for to long!
thanks T.R

So if they're just a pair...is there a possibility of them becoming a mating pair?

Ahhh yeah
exactly like a mouth brooder.
The Male Arowana after fertalizing the eggs, carry around as many as 50+ in his mouth, till they hatch. Then the fry swim in and out of his mouth on command. Till they can make it on their own, PoPs got chores...
Dood you got alot of catching up to do, you are stepping up for 2 x 30" arowanas, possibly breeding stock to boot? get ta googling bro...and good luck ;)

Sounds like a nice pickup..whether you intend to breed or not.

Looking forward to pix
