i finally broke down and ordered my 300 wide tank. 96x30x26. picking it up on sunday. ordered 2 fx5's,powerhead,media,heater yesterday. i have 2 emporor 400's laying around the house going to throw them on too. decided to use caribsea sand, wasnt to expensive for 250lbs. i think $100.

when i told the wife i was picking it up the S*** hit the fan...and i mean it hit it hard. lol i may end up getting rid of my 125, not by choice.

ill update with pics after i pick it up.

im going to stock it light for a while. 1 silver arow 14" , 3- payara scombs 6" . maybe get a stingray or 2. not sure yet. if i have to get rid of the 125 ill have 4-5" angelfish, 1 cigar fish 6" and 3 rainbow sharks 5" and 4" upsidedown cat. was hoping to leave them in the 125 and stock them both light. the 125 is overcrowded i think will all of them in it.

next ill need to figure out how to carry that monster into the house. i think it weights 660lbs.

i saw your setup on the 450 your getting. similar to mine. what substrate u going to use? the deal on my sand fell through.

I'm going bare tank and yes it should be 600ish lbs using 5/8" glass as my 225g was 1/2" glass and it was 400lbs. I already have 8 guys lined up ready for moving the 450g. I would assume it will weigh at least 700-800 lbs cuz of the 3/4" glass. I will be using 2 dollys and roll it through my door on it's side to where it's going to be placed then 8 guys lift on to the stand. It would be too hard to fit so many guys through the door if we lift it through. Saves us alot of energy and much easier to move. I would advise u to do this as well.

ended up buying the caibsea sand. wasnt cheap for 300lbs but the nice thing is it doesnt need to be washed. i bought the sand that has the live bacteria in it.

picked up the tank and stand yesterday. im going to be moving it in tommarow morning. not going to be easy to say the least. i need to stain the base so i wont set it up for a week or so.

My Wife is the same. If Leave with the truck, I get the 3rd degree. Next Morning She has normally forgotten. The trip that brought home the 2 Fx5's took untill mid Mourning the next day. LOL!
2 180 gallon tanks this way!
Got to Love Her.

The Ciribsea sand with live bateria is for saltwater tanks. Is there any particular reason you went this route over say cheap pool filter sand?
