Picking up my first flowerhorn

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Not good news.. Just got home from work and the flower horn has been badly beaten, all fins are torn badly, a lot of scales missing and a couple of pretty bad scrapes! Have put him in the hospital tank, picked up a 7" midevil today too and have it in the tank behind a divider. Going to wait until the flowerhorn heals, take all fish out the tank, rearrange the decor, then add all of the fish along with the two new fish and hopefully it'll work out.

I really did not expect this, I am so sorry hearing about this news!!

But, these guys are good on recovery but just need observation that he is not getting any infection on beaten/torn parts!!

I really feel pain about the hospital things, getting all guys out, rearrange the things! And healing FH!

I really like to work on tank work, decorations, water changes, but not the other part around when FH is sick or beaten up..

We all will consider as lesson learnt!

Salt in water is preliminary thing to help him healing....

wish you all the best!!!

The flowerhorn has been doing a headstand since he was put in the tank, he can swim normally if he chooses, he's done it a couple of times for a few seconds but goes back to the corner and sits like this.. Is he just sulking or is there something serious wrong with him?
