I have 5 apistogramma sp. pebas blue. Ive had them for about 3 or 4 months now and the only food they will readily eat is frozen brine shrimp. They wont touch flake. They will take a few bites of freeze dried brine shrimp then usually spit it out. And the Hikari mini pellets i have seem to be too big for them. Anyone know any food that is worth shot or that their apistogrammas readily eat?

apistos are known to be hard to switch to dry foods, i would just stick with the brine shrimp and add like bloodworms or something else, but with them frozen is your best bet, maybe try soaking the small sinking pellets in a cup of tank water with a small piece of frozen brine first, that way they will have the brine shrimp smell and will also be softened up so easier to eat. sometimes my smaller fish are big enough to take in the small pellets but then have to spit them out several times until they soften up a bit, soaking them first solves this

cool, im gonna try soaking the pellets and throwing them in with the brine shrimp when i feed them and maybe they will take a few bites of the pellet. Just want the fish to get a complete diet.
