Hi all,
I have a 10 inch red devil about one and a half years old, who has become quite fixated on hikari gold cichlid food. i realize this is a good, high quality food, and since my fish has been on it it's colors have gotten amazing. however, i would still like it to eat more of a variety. It will also eat frozen blood worms and mysis shrimp, though it seems these food items are so small that i don't know whether or not nutritionally they are worth it. recently i've tried jumbo krill and silver sides. i guess my question is whether or not i even need to be feeding him more of a varied diet, and if so, what are the best foods to supplement the hikari with. If i don't feed him anything for a couple days will that entice him to try the silversides or krill? any help would be greatly appreciated
