Picky tsn x rtc

I have a 6"-7" that loves shrimp and talipia. Tried stuffing the shrimp with pellets but he spits it right out, luckily my rtc is the TSN garbage disposal.

I'm not sire if mine is sick or what but it seems to be puking all the pellets it ate. I did a w.c witch dropped the temp from 77.5° to 75.8° and he was sitting on my sponge filter twitching then when he moved I saw the pellets falling and he spit up a few more while swimming away.

I've been watching closely and he seems to be fine but can't really see cause he's in his cave

Did you do the water change after you fed him? For some reason It is not unusual for them to regurgitate their food if a water change is done within a few days of feeding. Mine have done it on several occasions, now I make sure to do a w/c before feeding.

I feed it around 5 this morning before I went to work and did the w.c at about 1. I've done w.c changes like that before and he hasn't done that till now. Now I know to spread the time out between feeding and w.c or just don't feed until after the w.c is done.

Yeah, at least a day, better two between a good meal and a WC for bigger fish that eat less frequently.

I'd also seriously analyze any other possible reasons, test tank and tap water, etc. - maybe water chemistry is too different; a change in the incoming water; and also keep a closer eye on the fish. (Any) stress and parasites can also cause a regurgitation. As well as bad (e.g., moldy; freeze-burned; part-rotten; too fatty; mammal fat; etc.) foods.

It could have been stress. I take out all my decor to make sure I clean everything. I hate when I do a water change and find crud left over.
