ya i work at a aquarium shop so i get to hand pick my drift wood right off the truck

You need to cut the runners from your swords. When they do this, they start pulling the nutrients from the older leaves and put them into growing the new ones.....thus the holes in your leaves.

ya i am going to do some trimming this week when i do my reg tank mant

Actually, the leaves are dying off like that because those amazons were grown emersed. When they are submerged the leaves will die off, and new leaves will grow in. The runners are taking the majority of the nutrients from the plant, but not from the leaves.

wyldfya should i trim the runners or leave them alone.and shold i trim the dieing leaves

When the leaves are dead, and no longer green remove them. The runners can be clipped as soon as they have roots.

ok thanks for the info

That tank is a beauty. I would really love to set up a nice deep tank like that. Do you have trouble getting to the bottom when you do maintenance?
