it is 3m color qourtz sand. I bought the plants at garden ridge for like 3 bucks each. I stripped the metal rods out of them then siliconed some flat rocks to the bottom of the plants and barried that so she can't pull them up. Works perfectly and was less than 1/3 of the cost of the same plants at the LFS.

The dimensions are 6'x18"x18".
