there is one little fella there that makes me jealous as hell tho.... ur little spectacled caiman
here in the UK you have to get a license from the local council to own one, and you also have to get the license before you even buy one, otherwise shops wont sell them to you. obviously i could probly find someone dodgy to get one off, but i dont have the room for one yet tho.
what size is his tank/enclosure?
any full tank shots?
What do you mean by hots?
Yeah, I really love the caiman. His name is Schnappi
Oh, too bad about the license. Luckily we don´t need that here in Sweden.
Allthough there is pretty hard restrictions on the size of the enclosure. I´m planning to build a pond in the garage, cause the tank it lives in now is way too small.
It´s 190g (6,5' x 2' x 2'). And according to the law it needs to be 475,5g with a water area that is 14,7 square inches and at least 15,7" deep when the Caiman is between 20" and 29,5". And Schnappi is 27,5".
When he grows up to fullsize witch is over 8,2' he needs a waterarea that is 197 sqare feet.
So I´m not really sure that I can keep him till he´s that big. Would be fun though...

and yes you are rigth ,it is a myth, small enclosures dont stunt herps, what stunts herps and fish is the water polution, stress and condicions of thouse small enclosures, wich is a very inhumane thing to do to say the least. I think the rule is to keep only critters wich maximum size we can suporte. That being said keep upgrading your caimans enclosure
